The “Emirates Journal of Food and Agriculture [EJFA]” is a unique, peer-reviewed journal publishing basic and applied research articles in the field of agricultural sciences by the Faculty of Food & Agriculture, United Arab Emirates University, United Arab Emirates.
Aims and Scope:
EJFA is devoted to sharing original basic and applied research articles in the fields of Food Science & Technology, Agricultural Sciences (Plant Production & Protection, and Animal Sciences), Human Nutrition, Agribusiness, Consumer Sciences and the Environment. Interdisciplinary articles in the fields of food, agriculture and environment are welcome.
External Peer Review:
The refereeing process of EJFA has been streamlined and the journal is continuing in its efforts to provide peer-reviewed best quality academic research in Agriculture, Food Science, Nutrition, Biotechnology and other inter related scientific disciplines. Through this, EJFA aims to be a recognized cited journal in near future.
The streamlined blind review process helps the journal to maintain its high integrity and provide high quality peer-reviewed academic and professional research in the field of food and agriculture and other related disciplines.
Frequency:
With promising submissions of manuscripts to EJFA, the journal increased in issues frequency and pages starting February 2010. Having published 21 Volumes since 1989, the frequency increased from 2 issues to 6 issues per year starting with volume 22nd. Issues will appear online prior to printing. Publishing schedule is February, April, June, August, October and December. This decision was taken to speed up the production of large number of high quality manuscripts submitted by fellow researchers from all over the world.
There are NO Submission/HandlingPublication/Subscription charges, and the articles are published online with full open access. Further, the corresponding author will get one complimentary copy of the printed journal.

EJFA is now indexed in WHO’s HINARI database We are pleased to announce that “Emirates Journal of Food and Agriculture“. The European COST Action FA0906 on “UV-B radiation: A specific regulator of plant growth and food quality in a changing climate (UV4growth)” aims to develop an integrated vision of the role of UV-B in plant growth across a range of organizational levels and natural and agricultural systems. In this context, this COST Action in collaboration with the Emirates journal of Food and Agriculture is going to publish a special issue on “Plant responses to ultraviolet radiation”, mainly focusing the roles of antioxidants and pro-oxidants.
